Two, three or four days: choosing the length of a private trip for a group

Updated 4 November 2026

A group of up to 16 can charter Raja Bintang 01 for 2D1N, 3D2N or 4D3N, each at one whole-boat fare; 3D2N is IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785). Three days covers the main stops at a steady pace, two is a sprint, and four adds slack. The 4D3N route is a sample agreed with the captain.

One fare per route, and what stands beside it

Every private route on Raja Bintang 01 has a single whole-boat fare for 1 to 16 guests, with no band split. A party of four and a party of sixteen pay the same figure; the only difference is how many ways it is split.

Three lines stand beside that fare. The park package is priced per guest and varies by trip type. A guide and drone, camera and GoPro documentation are not included on a charter and are quoted on request. Flights, hotels, tips and personal expenses stay with you. Fuel sits inside the rounded fare, which is all-in as quoted. Prices are the 2026 rates as of 4 November 2026; 2027 is on request, with the figure put in writing before you pay anything.

The boat stays at anchor overnight, and the captain chooses the anchorage with the weather.

Two days and one night: the sprint

The 2D1N plan runs like this: pick-up and lunch, Kelor, a dragon walk on Rinca and the sunset at Kalong on day one; sunrise at Padar, breakfast, Pink Beach, lunch, Taka Makassar and Manta Point on day two. Stops are tentative and depend on the weather.

That is a great deal for one night, and it suits a group with two things to protect: a short window and a tight budget. It ends later on the second day than the longer trips, in the late afternoon, so confirm the finish in writing and book flights home for the next day.

Two days leave no slack. A morning of rough water or a late arrival eats a stop, and nothing replaces it. Each guest's share at sixteen is IDR 4,310,000 (≈ USD 264); at eight, IDR 8,620,000 (≈ USD 529).

Three days and two nights: the full set

The 3D2N route is the boat's own day plan. Day one: Kelor, Manjarite and the sunset at Kalong. Day two: Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day three: Sebayur or Siaba, then back to Labuan Bajo between 12:00 and 12:30. The order is the captain's call with the weather.

It suits a team away-day, a family reunion, or a birthday party that wants one free evening at anchor. Day two is long, and a group with older relatives will feel it. Each guest's share at sixteen is IDR 4,880,000 (≈ USD 299); at eight, IDR 9,750,000 (≈ USD 598).

Four days and three nights: a sample route

The 4D3N route has no fixed itinerary, so what follows is a sample, assembled from the same stops and agreed with the captain before sailing. It is tentative, and the weather overrules it.

  • Day 1. Kelor, a dragon walk on Rinca, sunset at Kalong.
  • Day 2. Padar at first light, Pink Beach, then the walk on Komodo Island.
  • Day 3. Taka Makassar and Manta Point, then a slow afternoon at anchor with no stop asked of anyone.
  • Day 4. Sebayur or Siaba, back in Labuan Bajo between 12:00 and 12:30.

The fourth day buys slack: the long day splits in two, and a weather swap no longer costs a stop. It also costs less than the third day did, since the step from 3D2N to 4D3N is smaller than the step from 2D1N to 3D2N. Each guest's share at sixteen is IDR 5,310,000 (≈ USD 326); at eight, IDR 10,620,000 (≈ USD 652).

How to decide: three questions

Start from the group, not the map.

  • How many days can everyone give? Ask the person with the least leave. A route that one guest has to leave early is the wrong route.
  • Who walks slowly? If the group includes grandparents or young children, the fourth day is where the pace becomes kind.
  • What is the money per head? Divide the fare by the number who confirm, not the number who hope to come. At twelve guests the 3D2N share is IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399).

A concession: if you only have three days, take the 3D2N. A compressed four-day plan is worse than a well-paced three-day one. And if the dates are not fixed, tell us the range and we write back with the departures that suit it. Deposit is 50 percent, with the balance due 30 days before sailing.

FAQ

How many days do you need for a private Komodo boat trip?

Three days and two nights covers Kelor, Kalong, Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point at a steady pace. Two days is a sprint with no slack, and four days adds a slow afternoon and room for a weather change. All stops are tentative.

Is the price per person or for the whole boat?

For the whole boat. Each route has one fare for 1 to 16 guests, with no band split. Divide it by the number of confirmed guests to find the share. The park package, and a guide and documentation on a charter, are quoted separately.

Is the 4D3N route fixed?

No. The 4D3N has no fixed itinerary, so the route in this article is a sample drawn from the stops of the three-day plan. We agree the final plan with the captain before sailing, and the weather can still change it on the day.

When does a longer trip finish?

The 3D2N and 4D3N routes finish at the Labuan Bajo harbour between 12:00 and 12:30. Book flights home after 13:00, or take the next day. The 2D1N finishes later, in the afternoon, so confirm the exact hour with us in writing before you buy your ticket home.
