Friends on a whole boat: who pays what
Updated 4 November 2026
A Komodo friends trip on a private boat gets cheaper the more of you share it: Raja Bintang 01 is one fare for up to 16. Twelve friends on 4D3N pay IDR 7,080,000 (≈ USD 434) each; six on 3D2N pay IDR 13,000,000 (≈ USD 798) each. Snorkelling gear and a sound system with speaker and karaoke set are on board.
Cabins by who snores
Friends choose cabins by habit, not by rank, so start with the bed list. Up on the upper deck, the Master cabin has a queen bed plus a single, a balcony and a private bathroom. The Deluxe cabin: a queen bed, a balcony, a private bathroom. Those two go first, to whoever asks first or wins the toss.
The two Private cabins each take a pair, on a queen bed with a single sofa bed. The two Sharing cabins hold up to four guests each on two double beds, so four friends who can tolerate each other fill one. Their bathroom is shared between the two cabins, and we say so before anyone books.
Suits: six friends in three pairs, or twelve in six, or sixteen filling every bed. Four cabins have a bathroom of their own; the other two share one.
| Cabin | Rooms | Beds | Sleeps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Master Cabin | 1 | 1 queen + 1 single | 2 |
| Deluxe Cabin | 1 | 1 queen bed | 2 |
| Private Cabins 01 and 02 | 2 | 1 queen + 1 sofa bed | 4 |
| Sharing Cabins 01 and 02 | 2 | 2 double beds | 8 |
| Berths in total | 6 | 16 |
Extra beds bring the open-trip cabin plan to 19; private charters are priced for up to 16 guests.
Six, twelve, sixteen: the share per head
Friends do their sums before they commit, so here they are. Six friends on the three-day route pay IDR 13,000,000 (≈ USD 798) each. Twelve friends on the four-day route pay IDR 7,080,000 (≈ USD 434) each, which is the four-day whole-boat fare of IDR 85,000,000 (≈ USD 5,215) divided by twelve. Sixteen friends on the three-day route pay IDR 4,880,000 (≈ USD 299) each.
The fare is one figure for 1 to 16 guests, so the price does not move when a friend drops out; the share per head does. That is the risk of a whole boat, and it belongs to the group. Agree who covers a gap before the deposit of 50 percent is paid.
The park package sits apart from the fare, and so do the guide and documentation on a private charter. The table below shows the range of head counts.
| Group size | 2D1N | 3D2N | 4D3N |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | IDR 34,500,000 | IDR 39,000,000 | IDR 42,500,000 |

| 6 | IDR 11,500,000 | IDR 13,000,000 | IDR 14,170,000 |
| 8 | IDR 8,620,000 | IDR 9,750,000 | IDR 10,620,000 |
| 10 | IDR 6,900,000 | IDR 7,800,000 | IDR 8,500,000 |

| 14 | IDR 4,930,000 | IDR 5,570,000 | IDR 6,070,000 |

Four days for a reunion
The four-day route is a sample route, so the stops are set down in writing before you pay. A reunion rewards the extra day because nobody has to hurry out of bed. The core of the three-day plan stays: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on the first evening, then Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island or Rinca, Taka Makassar and Manta Point.
The extra day buys slower mornings. Padar at sunrise is optional, and a group that would rather sleep can take Pink Beach later in the morning instead. The order is the captain's, made with the weather, and the boat stays at anchor overnight in an anchorage the captain chooses.
The harbour comes at 12:00 to 12:30 on the last day. Friends flying out the same day book flights after 13:00.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.
Divers and snorkellers in one party
Snorkelling gear is included in the fare. Diving is not sold on this boat. If some of your group dive, ask us before booking. A mixed group can be arranged only on a private charter, never on an open-trip seat, and we put in writing, before you pay, what the crew and the tender can do.
The boat has a Suzuki 15 HP tender, a refrigerator, a water dispenser and a sound system with speaker and karaoke set. The snorkellers get Pink Beach, Taka Makassar and Manta Point; at the last of these the current runs strong and a confident swimmer is advised. Manta rays are never promised.
The speaker and the karaoke set are yours to run.
Settling the bill before sailing
One payer is easier than twelve. Pick the friend who likes a spreadsheet, let them collect from the others, and pay us in one go. A deposit of 50 percent holds the boat, and the balance falls due 30 days before departure.
Fees depend on how you pay: a card link 3 percent, PayPal 7.2 percent, EDC 3 percent. The fee is added to the payment, and we state it before you pay. Nothing else is added without a written quote.
Agree two things in the group chat before the deposit goes in: who covers a gap if a friend drops out, and who decides when the plan changes with the weather. The first is money, the second is temper. We send the quote, the schedule and the payment steps to the payer in writing, so that one person holds the whole record.

FAQ
How does a private charter work when some guests dive and others snorkel, and what does it cost?
Snorkelling gear is included, but diving is not sold on this boat, so ask us before booking. A mixed group is arranged only on a private charter, with the details confirmed in writing. The whole boat costs IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785) on the three-day route, and any dive arrangement is quoted separately.
Can I dive, or is it snorkelling only? Is gear included?
Snorkelling gear is included in the fare. Diving is not sold on Raja Bintang 01. If you hold a dive certificate and want to dive, ask us first and we say plainly what can be arranged in writing.
How do friends split the cost of a whole boat?
The fare is one figure for 1 to 16 guests, so each friend pays the fare divided by head count. Twelve on the four-day route pay IDR 7,080,000 (≈ USD 434) each. Choose one payer to collect, and agree in advance who covers a gap if someone drops out.
Can we bring our own drinks?
Ask us before the trip. Coffee, tea and mineral water are included; for other drinks, ask us before the trip. Anything extra is quoted in writing, and we confirm what the crew allows on board before you pay.
Is there a speaker or karaoke set?
Yes, there is a sound system with a speaker and karaoke set on board. The group runs it, with your own playlist. The outdoor chill area and the sun decks give you the space, and the boat stays at anchor overnight, so the evening is yours.
