Raja Bintang 01

A birthday, an anniversary or a proposal on a private phinisi

Updated 4 November 2026

A Komodo birthday boat charter on Raja Bintang 01 fits 12 to 16 guests on the whole boat for IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785) over 3D2N. Fourteen guests pay IDR 5,570,000 (≈ USD 342) each. Cake, decoration and any dinner set-up are extras on request, each quoted separately in writing.

Plan the celebration

The guest list sets the cabins

A celebration is planned from the guest list, not from the date. Raja Bintang 01 has six cabins and takes up to 16 guests on standard beds, so a list of 12 to 16 fills the boat without anyone being moved to a second one. Count the people first, then the doors.

The honoured guest takes the Master cabin on the upper deck: a queen bed plus a single, an ocean view, a private balcony and a private bathroom. The Deluxe cabin, with a queen bed and its own balcony, suits the partner or the closest couple. The two Private cabins each take a couple, or a couple with one friend on the sofa bed.

The two Sharing cabins, with two double beds each for up to four guests, are the place for the youngest friends. They share one bathroom, and we say so before anyone books. Suits: a milestone birthday where the group splits naturally into couples and friends.

Extra beds bring the open-trip cabin plan to 19; private charters are priced for up to 16 guests.

Where the toast happens

The boat has three rooms for a gathering: an indoor dining room, an outdoor chill area and the sun decks. There is a sound system with a speaker and karaoke set on board, with a refrigerator and a water dispenser.

The best toast is at the end of the first day. Sunset at Kalong falls between 17:49 and 18:27 across the year, and a short while later the flying foxes leave the mangroves. You watch it from the water, and the sun deck gives sixteen guests room to stand.

There is no fixed menu, and we do not invent one. Meals, snacks, fruit, mineral water, coffee and tea are included; anything beyond that is a request we quote.

A three-day party, day by day

A celebration needs to know which day carries the weight. Day one: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong, ending with the sunset and the flying foxes. Day two: Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island or Rinca, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day three: Sebayur or Siaba, then the harbour by 12:00 to 12:30.

Put the party on the evening of day two. Everyone has walked, swum and been in the sun, and the boat stays at anchor overnight, wherever the captain judges best for the weather, so the evening runs as long as you like and ends only when you turn in. The first evening at Kalong is better kept for the sunset itself.

The plan is tentative and depends on the weather. Book flights home after 13:00 or the next day.

These stops swap order with tide and wind: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.

A proposal, quietly

A proposal needs fewer people than a party and more care. Tell us at booking, and we tell the crew, so that the right moment and the right place on the boat are agreed in advance. We confirm the plan in writing. Nobody else in your group needs to know until you decide.

Choose the setting from what the route offers: the sun deck at Kalong with the flying foxes overhead, the Master cabin's balcony at first light, or the beach at Pink Beach in the morning. None of these is a promise of weather, and the day plan can shift.

A photographer is available on request and quoted separately. On a private charter the guide and documentation are not included. Drone footage is never promised: flying one requires a park permit, which we arrange through our team and quote in writing.

Cake, decoration, dinner: ask first

Each item on this list is an optional extra, so we promise none of it in advance. A barbecue on the boat or on a beach, a cake, flowers, banners and a special dinner are optional extras. You ask us, we ask the crew, and a written quote reaches you before you pay. Nothing is added to your bill without that quote.

If you bring your own cake, tell us. There is a refrigerator on board; tell us the size of the cake, as a large one may need a different plan. We confirm that in writing as well.

The crew of 6 runs the boat; the celebration is yours to design, with our help on the arrangements.

The bill, at fourteen guests

A birthday for fourteen on the three-day route costs IDR 5,570,000 (≈ USD 342) per guest, which is the whole-boat fare of IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785) divided by fourteen. Twelve guests pay more each and sixteen pay less, and the table below shows the range. The fare is one figure for 1 to 16 guests.

Beside it, and apart from it: the park package, the guide and the documentation on a private charter, and any celebration set-up. We take a deposit of 50 percent, and the balance 30 days before departure. More than 16 guests needs a second boat.
