Sebayur or Siaba: the quiet last morning
Updated 4 November 2026
A Sebayur island last-morning snorkel closes day 3 of Raja Bintang 01's plan, which names Sebayur or Siaba; the captain chooses with the weather. The boat is back at the harbour by 12:00 to 12:30, so book flights after 13:00. The whole boat costs IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785).
The quiet last morning
Day three: nothing is asked of you except a swim and the journey home. Sebayur is the larger of the Sebayur islands, near Flores, with beaches and reefs close in.
- Arrival: an anchorage with few boats, and the engine quiet.
- At the stop: a snorkel over a reef near the beach, easy for most swimmers.
- Leaving: a dry towel, a last look at the water and the run back to the harbour.
Snorkelling gear is included in the fare. Sebayur is outside the dragon trekking area, and the walk is a beach, not a trail.
Which island, and who decides
The plan names Sebayur or Siaba, and the captain chooses with the weather and the sea. The choice is made that morning. Both are swims, not walks.
The run back is the constraint. Sebayur is about 1.5 to 2 hours from Labuan Bajo by boat, so the crew sets the hour of leaving, and the harbour comes at 12:00 to 12:30. Bring a hat, sunscreen and a dry set of clothes for the journey.
Keep your passport, tickets and phone charger in your day bag on the last morning, not buried in a cabin bag.
One island, not two
Not both islands, and not a late stop: the harbour comes next. The morning is built around the return, so the swim is short and the schedule is firm. A group that wants longer at the reef should ask for an extra night, not a longer last morning.
A late flight is a plan, not a risk. Book after 13:00, or the next day. On a private charter the hours are set with your flights, and we confirm them in writing, so a tight connection is a conversation to have with us before you pay.
Back at the harbour by noon
Sebayur or Siaba closes the three-day route, after Manta Point and Taka Makassar. The two-day route ends differently, and its final morning is shorter. The whole boat costs IDR 78,000,000 (≈ USD 4,785) for up to 16 guests, and an open-trip seat starts at IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291) per person.
Ask for dates and we tell you what the day plan implies for your flight. We confirm the plan in writing before you pay, and the transfer back to your hotel or the airport is part of the fare on a private charter.
FAQ
Is Sebayur worth it on a phinisi trip?
As a gentle close, yes, though not as a highlight. The anchorage is quiet and the engine still, the snorkel over a reef near the beach is easy, and it gives you a last look at the water before the run home.
How long do we stay at Sebayur?
The captain sets the time ashore on the day, with the tide and the weather. The return to Labuan Bajo takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, and the harbour comes at 12:00 to 12:30, so the morning is built around it. Ask for the plan on your date.
Can children or older travellers manage Sebayur?
Yes. It is an easy swim stop with no climb, outside the dragon trekking area. Children who swim and older guests who can wade manage well. Bring sun protection and a dry set of clothes for the journey home.
